The club has been in discussion with the owner of Weobley Castle on Gower about setting up a short field course. What we didn't realise was that there was a field archery club there in the 1980s, though there is no evidence of this now.
We are hoping that we will be able to recover the twelve bosses that have been languishing at Duffryn Farm in Dunvant since 2008 when a practice course was developed for the International Field Archery Championships held that year. The Australian team joined our archers on the course as part of their final preparations.
The Weobley site offers us the opportunity to develop a varied and challenging course over rocky ground in the shadow of the castle, in the steeply sloping fields and woodland. There are toilet and parking facilities at the castle and the farm shop also provides tea coffee and cake for after a hard morning's shoot.
